INCOME AND EXPENSES SPREADSHEET

The Rideshare Guy Income and Expenses Spreadsheet allows you to enter your Uber income and vehicle related expenses as they occur. It automatically calculates your profit or loss for you to include in your annual tax return, along with the GST to be included in your quarterly BAS (Business Activity Statement). Note that you must have Excel to use the spreadsheet.

To download the spreadsheet to your computer, right-click on the button and select Save target as or Save link as... depending on the browser you're using. Save it in a suitable folder and create a shortcut to it on your Windows desktop.

Excel files download from the Internet in protected view. Before you can start using the spreadsheet, you need to click on the Enable Editing button at the top of the screen the first time you open it.

VEHICLE LOG

‚ÄčTo get the most tax deductions and to minimise your GST obligations, you MUST keep a vehicle log. It's really very simple. For 90 consecutive days, you record your trips and whether they were for the purpose of generating income or they were private. This gives you a percentage of your expenses that you can apply to not just fuel and service costs, but to lease repayments (if your car is financed through a novated lease) or to depreciation (if it's fully owned) or to depreciation and interest (if it's financed through a chattel mortgage).

And this vehicle log is good for 5 years!

To make it easy for you, we've created a spreadsheet where you can enter your odometer readings and it will not only serve as a record for the ATO, but calculate the percentage of your driving that can be applied to expenses in our Income and Expenses spreadsheet.

To download the spreadsheet to your computer, right-click on the button and select Save target as or Save link as... depending on the browser you're using. Save it in a suitable folder and create a shortcut to it on your Windows desktop.
